But then that all changed when a client of mine who I have done some work on already kept bugging me and bugging me to tattoo his throat. I won't lie I avoided it just so because I was too nervous to consider tattooing his freaking throat... I mean after all everyone is gonna see that. If I goof it then I would have to live with that but he would have to live with it everyday lol...
Long story short I tattooed his throat for him and I feel that it came out as planned. I will say that I have a new respect for guys that do throats a lot... it was weird angles and nerve wrecking as a mother but worth it lol...
All Seeing Eye tattoo stamped right on his throat. He was happy and so was I.

New Art Project Finished
So after hitting a little artist block for a few days I managed to push this one out. It's 12x16 and was a lot of fun. Sometimes I just have to go back to the beginning - Skull -Roses etc... try to find ways to improve it. Even though these are things that I have done before I just push myself to add things I have never thought of before. For example I added the little jewels in the dagger and added the all seeing eye. I tried to draw a better snake and even though you may not like what I have done this is actually the coolest snake I have done yet... at least in my mind anyways.
You have to remember that I have been tattooing for only 2 years and 8 months... I have actually been drawing for maybe a year and half... I know that doesn't add up but I did go about all this ass backwards and no I haven't always been an artist.
Prints are available if anyone is interested at www.lonnymorgan.com

Things are moving fast
Man, I am telling you here lately things have started to move so fast. I already have some designs with Inkupltd and recently I also have a design that was picked up by Ink Addict.
Available for purchase Click Here.
Funny thing is that as a young artist (in the sense that I haven't been doing this all that long) I never aimed for these things to happen, I just wanted to become a better artist so I pushed myself by drawing, painting and then trying new mediums like markers etc. One thing just kind of led to another and I feel like it's all moving quick. I am going to try to keep up, I am going to try and not let the negative that comes with the positive to affect me. I am going to do my best in staying focused and keep on keeping on!!
Oh yeah... there's More
So, I have also been sponsored by Orphan Irons recently. I am literally blown away by this and I am truly honored. Orphan Irons machines are top notch and Dewey is an awesome guy. Like I said - things are moving fast for me and I have no idea why, how or what I did to deserve all the good things that are coming my way... all I know is that I am pleased and will continue to work the way I do now to maintain and continue grow within. I love tattooing, I love art, I love learning... I love all aspects of hard work in this art life.
Here is one of the machines I am receiving... man I am so stoked! Before I leave allow me to share a thought with you. I am on instagram as most are @lonny_morgan and I follow a guy named DustyNeal. The other day he posted this... I thought it was right on point.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Some days I just get lucky!
Some days I really love what I do. Like when a guy walks into the shop and looks through the books and wants to speak with me about a possible tattoo. He says he wants a Lions Head this that and the third then says he wants something with his son's name in it. DING DING DING...
So, I start to feel him out and talk about banners, imagining, etc. He says to me maybe something with Dagger. DING DING DING! I tell him to let me trace out his arm and allow me to draw something for him in a way that I think would be really cool. He hands me a deposit and says go for it.
Well, I went home and started sketching up something to fill up a nice chunk of his arm. I thought it was cool enough to send him through txt... he approved the rough drawing and presto I got to tattoo it on him! :)
Funny - sometimes you send a rough sketch / line drawing to people and they act scared like you are going to outline their tattoo in green (because you sketched with a green prisma pencil) or that they don't see background and feel like they need to change things... just have a little faith in the artist... I mean if you have seen their work - like their work and feel like they are the one for you then trust them. They see background - they see the little things you don't in the rough sketch.
And remember - just because your buddy has tribal all over his arm doesn't mean that he knows shit about art. So, be aware of that when he offers you advice about your next one!

The Pay Off!
So, I am striving to become a good custom artist. I want to reach a
level where I don't really need to use a reference and I just pull this
shit out of my head. As, I believe, it should be. Last night I stayed up
until 4am working on this. A walkin comes to the shop the other day and
wants a 2d compass rose tattoo and I begin to pitch him an idea to get
away from the stamp he is wanting. He starts talking pin up and what
not... so I start showing him my sketch book and tell him that I would
love to have the chance to draw something custom for him.
Well, this morning I sent him the drawing I whipped up (the only thing referenced is the star) and he responds with, "Dude that's awesome. I love it." That's what this is all about for me. Proving to myself that I can push my limits as I am still a rookie and getting that kind of response from a client who wanted a flat 2d compass rose.
His appt was a lil ways out so I even took the time to render the drawing. So, this weekend we start laying this little lady down - 1/4 Sleeve Upper Arm. Can't wait!

Mailing em out!
I won't lie to you guys... it feels pretty damn cool to be mailing out my artwork to some folks here in the U.S. and even in Canada! I mean being that I am nothing more than just a humble rookie I feel honored that people are wanting to hang my work on their walls, in their shops etc. I get a warm fuzzy feeling. Thank you guys!!!
Tattoos, Art, Life
So, before I head off to work - stop by the print shop and pick up prints that I have to mail out I just wanted to say that though life is full of ups and downs - highs and lows I try to always look up. I think the hardest thing to deal with in art and life is those moments when you hit a wall or a block. Like last night. I pulled out the old sketch pad and couldn't seem to make anything happen. You have to learn to put the pencil down and move on with life. Just because you suck at that moment doesn't mean you've lost your talent or ability, even though it feels that way lol.
Shit comes in waves for me. I will hit a spree of just cranking out stuff without thought and then I hit that point where I feel like I am trying to force something to happen and it's all crap. Funny though just a year ago I couldn't even hardly draw. Just gotta keep pushing! On a side note - it feels pretty damn cool to know I am about to go mail out my art to different folks across the U.S. and even Canada. That's a rad feeling to know that people are going to have a piece of my life hanging on their wall somewhere.
I got shit to do so later...
